Vladimir Putin’s security service raided the headquarters of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) under the direction of Service 5 (or The Fifth Service of the FSB), and arrested 2 high-ranking officers.
A Russian journalist has revealed Putin’s accusations against them that are allegedly related to the war in Ukraine.
In particular, Vladimir Putin’s Protection Service arrested Colonel-General Sergei Besenta, who has been in charge of the FSB’s 5th Service Directorate since 2009, and his deputy, Anatoly Bolyukh.
The two are currently under surveillance and under house arrest.
The official allegations are for corruption and even bribery, but unofficially, according to a Russian investigative journalist, Vladimir Putin is said to be unhappy with the way Russia’s Ukrainian Operation is developing.
In particular, Vladimir Putin suspects them of having connections with journalists and representatives of Russian political organizations.
“Putin seems to be really unhappy with the FSB in Ukraine: He lashed out at the 5 Service SOiMS (FSB’s foreign intelligence annex). Sergei Besenta, the head of the service, and Bolioch, the deputy head of the DOI, were placed under house arrest, according to my sources inside,” Russian journalist Andrei Soldatov wrote on his social media page.
