EDWARD SNOWDEN: “ELVIS PRESLEY WAS ASSASINATED BY THE CIA”
Moscow | In an exclusive interview with the Moskovskaya Gazeta, the world famous whistleblower Edward Snowden claimed that the American secret services were responsible for the death of the king of rock n’ roll, Elvis Presley.
Snowden, who lives as a fugitive in Russia after leaking documents about the NSA’s surveillance programs, made some previously unreported allegations during the interview.
The National Security Agency whistleblower has made a few controversial claims, notably that he possesses some classified information proving that the CIA has poisoned and killed Elvis.
“A CIA operative poisoned his food with a solution known as the K-16, which is made of opiates and lethal tetrodotoxins.”
He says the autopsy didn’t notice the poisoning because the solution was almost unnoticeable at the time.
“Elvis used a lot of drugs himself, so the opiates certainly blended in. As for the curare, it’s hard to notice unless you’re specifically looking for it.”
According to the former NSA and CIA employee, the CIA controlled the autopsy to make sure the death was judged accidental, just like they did for Marilyn Monroe.
Edward Snowden says that the CIA orchestrated the assassination of Elvis in order to divert the attention of the American public from a major scandal surrounding U.S. aerospace company Lockheed.
This incident, known as the “Lockheed bribery scandals”, encompassed a series of bribes and contributions made by Lockheed officials from the late 1950s to the 1970s while negotiating the sale of aircraft.
In 1977, the scandal caused considerable political controversy in West Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Japan and nearly led to the downfall of the American corporation.
According to Edward Snowden, Elvis’ well-timed death saved the military-industrial giant.
“Everyone wanted the American military out of Europe and Asia, and then all of a sudden, everyone was playing Elvis and remembering how much they loved us.”
Mr. Snowden says that the documents proving his claims will be integrally reproduced in his new book, expected to be released in September.
Edward Snowden was hired by an NSA contractor in 2013 after previous employment with Dell and the CIA. In the month of June of the same year, he revealed thousands of classified NSA documents to journalists.
The US government filed espionage charges against him shortly after his revelations were made public. He has been living under asylum in Moscow, after fleeing the US for Hong Kong in the wake of the leaks.
