According to the Greek news site ProNews.gr:
Today, the Russians bombed the motorcade and the meeting point of K. Mitsotakis-V. Zelensky in Odessa, with the obvious aim of exterminating them.
However, it is reported that there are 3 dead from the hit.
In particular, Russian Iskander-M and/or P-800 Onyx missiles (of defense but now also used against ground targets from the coast of Crimea) hit today the place where Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Ukrainian President V. Zelensky were going to meet .
The strikes were carried out as soon as K. Mitsotakis had arrived in the city, whose progress was monitored by satellite by the Russians.
Apparently, some of the Russian-speaking residents (the city is 70% Russian-speaking), were also watching the Mitsotakis procession and directed the fire.
They failed to exterminate him, by just a few meters: About 80 meters from the point where the Greek expedition’s vanguard had arrived, the first explosion took place.
And just 150 meters from his motorcade.
If anything saved him it was the sudden change of wind that changed the movement of the projectiles for a few meters.
The Russians also used kamikaze drones which were probably Shaheed-136.
From the powerful explosion, the shock wave reached the Greek diplomatic mission, where all its members were confirmed to be in good health.
For the first time in history, a Greek prime minister is attacked by a foreign power for his decisions which, of course, constituted a declaration of war against that power, since his declaration of “Greece-Russia State of War” is known.
After all, the Russians, through the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, had declared that the Greek Prime Minister “will be held accountable” for the weapons and ammunition he has sent to Ukraine.
It should be noted that for the Russians, Odessa is Russian territory and the main objective of the “special operation” that started two years ago.

The Greek Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias contacted his Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov and the Chief of the Ukrainian General Staff Olesandr Sirsky who informed him that K. Mitsotakis has survived and has been taken to a shelter.

In addition to Stavros Papastavros and the Prime Minister, the Greek delegation includes Anna Maria Boura, director of the Prime Minister’s diplomatic office, Kyra Kapi, Aristotelia Peloni and Alexandros Marakis, as well as Mr. Mitsotakis’ personal photographer and cameraman.
The meeting between Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Volodymyr Zelensky took place normally and lasted 45 minutes.
In fact, it lasted 15 minutes longer than planned.
During their meeting, K. Mitsotakis expressed Greece’s support to Ukraine to Volodymyr Zelensky.

A Russian government source, speaking on the condition of anonymity to pronews.gr, described Western leaders who supply Ukraine with weapons and visit participants in Ukrainian military ceremonies as “legitimate targets”, referring to today’s bombing of Mitsotakis and Zelensky in Odessa.
In fact, they report that “K. Mitsotakis was going to participate or had been invited to an award ceremony for officials of the Ukrainian forces in the port of Odessa and the shot of the Iskander-M (finally it is confirmed that the main hit came from the specific tactical ballistic weapon) was aimed at exactly this ceremony”!
Subsequently, there were opportunistic attacks by Russian drones that literally chased V. Zelensky and K. Mitsotakis in Odessa in order to achieve a double hit, as European Finance Commissioner P. Zentiloni confirmed: “Russian drones in #Odessa against the motorcade of #Zelensky and Greek Prime Minister #Mitsotakis. They were together to commemorate the victims of another Russian attack. Shame on them!” he said in his post.
The same Russian source recalls both the statement of the representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs M. Zakharova about “accountability of K. Mitsotakis for the weapons he gave to the Ukrainian regime and causing the death of civilians, even Greek expatriates”, but also yesterday’s announcement of of the Russian embassy in Athens that repeats Zakharova’s statement, a few hours before Mitsotakis’ visit to Russian-speaking Odessa (70% of the residents are Russian).
And he reminds that “Especially Odessa is a place of martyrdom for Russians” referring to the 101 murdered by the Right Sector neo-Nazis in the trade union building on May Day 2014.
The targeting of the Greek prime minister and the attempt to exterminate him by the Russians is, of course, unacceptable, as many dead Russians as the Greek government’s aid to the Ukrainians has caused and creates concern, but the characterization of Western leaders as a “legitimate target” creates greater concern. they are now visiting Ukraine.
