US air strikes on Iran called off last minute following personal intervention by Trump
It has emerged that President Donald Trump intervened to halt planned U.S. airstrikes against Iran at the last minute.
Sources indicate that Trump “pulled the plug” on the operation just minutes before execution. This reportedly occurred on Wednesday evening as military assets were already in position.
U.S. forces scrambled from Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar were ordered to stand down, and the base had previously been partially evacuated as a precaution.
Following the news of the de-escalation, Iranian airspace reopened to commercial traffic, and global oil prices fell by more than 4% as fears of a regional war subsided.
