• The white giraffe and her calf were killed by poachers in Garissa, eastern Kenya 
• Members of the Ishaqbini Hirola Community said only one white giraffe remains
• The last remaining white giraffe is a male calf born to the now-slain mother 
• Rangers said the slaughter of the two giraffes was a sad day for the area
