Greece Summons Turkish Ambassador After Speedboat Rams Greek Coast Guard Vessel
The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Turkish Ambassador to Greece Burak Ozugergin, following the disturbing incident which took place in the sea off the Greek island of Kos early Wednesday morning.
This was made public by Greek government spokesperson Stelios Petsas, who told reporters that the Greek Foreign Ministry will ask the Turkish ambassador to explain why the deliberate ramming incident occurred.
Additionally, the Greek Foreign Ministry issued a laconic statement on Wednesday afternoon in response to the Turkish President’s despicable remarks about Greece and the incident near Kos.
”We’re not surprised by today’s condemnable, sad, and unacceptable statements and actions of Turkey.
“They are a continuation of an escalating practice, which puts her not just beyond any European boundaries, but also beyond any European logic,” Athens officials said. ”Boundaries and logic which Greece will continue to defend consistently and by all means available.”
