‘It Looks Like a Blast Zone’: California Officer Describes Devastation Caused by Wildfire
4:13 pm (EST) | Nov. 09, 2018 | As seen on Shepard Smith Reporting
A Chico County police officer called in to “Shepard Smith Reporting” Friday to describe the devastation a deadly, fast-moving wildfire has caused in the town of Paradise, California.
Detective Mark Bass — who lives in Paradise, a town of 27,000 people, about 180 miles northeast of San Francisco — said he got his family to safety and then returned to help others.
“It started at 6:30 in the morning, and before you knew it, it had already gone through town,” Bass said.
He said he’s lived in Paradise for 18 years and worked in law enforcement for 26 years, and he’s never seen any devastation like this.
